MEMBERS-ONLY: Join us after breakfast on June 5th to clean up the LABC's historic tile garden behind Friendship Auditorium. **You must be logged into your account to RSVP for this event**
ABOUT THE TILE GARDEN: In 1938, the LABC's Patio Garden Committee sold patio paving blocks as a Club fundraiser. Each member could buy a block and autograph it for $10.00. 234 members bought blocks, and "autograph parties" were held on several Wednesday mornings after breakfast.
Around 1965 (we're still confirming this date), many of these tiles were relocated to Friendship Auditorium. But they're in need of a lot of weeding and cleaning to restore them to their former glory.
DETAILS: Make sure to bring gloves, a hat, and sunscreen, as well as any of the following tools:
- Wheelbarrows
- Rakes
- Trowels
- Kneeling Pads
If you don't have any tools, no problem, there will still be plenty you can do! We'll also have water and snacks.
