LABC Presents: Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop on Their Mom's Legacy

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: In 1957, Shari Lewis introduced her sock puppet Lamb Chop to the world on Captain Kangaroo. For the next 40 years, Shari Lewis & her creations entertained and educated children through a series of beloved television shows. Lewis advocated for quality children’s programming & went on to earn 12 Emmys, a Peabody & countless other accolades. Shari worked closely with her daughter Mallory Lewis on her final two series Lamb Chop’s Play-Along & The Charlie Horse Music Pizza.

After Shari Lewis’s passing in 1998, Mallory has kept her legacy alive, touring and performing with Lamb Chop, Charlie Horse & Hush Puppy. Mallory and Lamb Chop will join The LABC on April 3rd to celebrate 25 years together as performers and to honor their mother’s legacy.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Daughter of a beloved children’s entertainer, Shari Lewis, Mallory Lewis has been deeply involved in children’s entertainment her entire life. Following her mother's passing in 1998, Mallory began appearing with Lamb Chop at live and televised events, entertaining at thousands of venues around the world including state fairs, performing arts centers, cruise ships and military bases.

Mally and Lamb Chop have received many performance awards including the “Award for Excellence by UNAMA”, the “International Puppeteers Association”, and “Kid’s First Palmer Vision Award”. As an author, Mallory has penned 20 children’s novels, and is a multiple Emmy Award Nominee and Emmy Award Winner for “Outstanding Writing in a Children’s Series”.

Mallory and Lamb Chop are also heavily committed to charitable causes and have organized four Women’s World Record Skydiving Events which have raised close to 2 million dollars for Breast Cancer Research. Lamb Chop proudly holds a USPA license and 4 records!

ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.
