ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Join Victoria Christopher Murray, New York Times bestselling co-author of The Personal Librarian and The First Ladies, and the NAACP Image Award-winning novel Stand Your Ground, as she discusses her first solo historical fiction novel, Harlem Rhapsody, about the fascinating life and times of the “literary midwife” of the Harlem Renaissance, Jessie Redmon Fauset. Though her name is little known, Jessie discovered and nurtured geniuses like Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, and Nella Larsen, while working as the first literary editor of the NAACP’s magazine The Crisis.
